Art House Co-Op Weekly Project

Got this project yesterday and it seemed so silly that I had to do it.  I didn't want to just stand there like a dope and I wanted the representation of my pants to be something other than I'm just too lazy to get dressed, so voila!  I actually do yoga so it's not a total lie.

We think your pants can say a lot about who you are. So for this weekly project we want pictures of everyone wearing their pants! We will post all of them we get back on our blog!

No faces, just pants!

Spring, Sprang, Sprung!

I love going through the Etsy shops, picking a theme, and then arranging items in a treasury.  It's more difficult than you might think.  I sometimes go through several themes, picking one up and discarding another, before I see the finished collage in front of me. 

My current treasury began with a photo of an old Schwinn bike seat and grew from there.  Have a look and let me know what you think.

Playing Around

I've been experimenting with my photos a bit lately.  I was hesitant at first because I felt like manipulation of the photo, the moment caught, was somehow wrong.  Well, I guess I worked through my issues, because now I'm finding all sorts of cool ways to change the mood or vibe of certain shots.  I like this one in particular, my newest.

My Latest Treasury: City Confidential

Take a trek through the city and look at things from a different point of view. Do you see the beauty in the metal and the wires and the stone? Can you see the sparkle and symmetry of the windows in the high-rises? I see rock and roll in the manhole covers and history in the gargoyles and bricks. Just look around you. It's everywhere.

Seagulls in the Winter

Took these a few weeks ago on a windy, cold day at Winthrop Beach.  It took quite a few shots before I actually caught a bird in flight with the right lighting and not either flying into or out of the picture.  Not as easy as it looks!

The Jamaican Flag - My New Etsy Treasury

I've been sitting at home looking at the cold, gray skies and waiting for yet another storm.  Made me think of sunny Jamaica and all the fun times I've had there.  Didn't want to do the usual beaches and palm trees, so I used the colors of the Jamaican flag for inspiration.  Green for the land, yellow for the sun, black for the struggles of the people.  Ahhhh, mon.

I found these two shots from last spring/summer.  I love the shades of pink and the drops of rain.  I have neighbors with incredible gardens.  Thankfully, no one has chased me out their yard while I'm creeping around in their flowers.
